I live in New Market, IA. I was born and raised in MO, and moved to IA in 1989, although I am only about 20 miles north of the MO-IA line. Henry and Emma Hofer had 7 grandchildren, and I am the oldest. My brother and I are the only ones that Henry ever knew, as he died before the other 5 were born. My brother was only a year old when Henry died, so he doesn't remember Henry at all. I was 5, so I remember him well. Emma died in 1950 and I wasn't born until 1952, so Emma never knew any of the grandchildren. Jennifer Sharp |
